S³C has been 3 years in the making!
It was born out of the overwhelming request of Aban Advantage Illinois conceal carry clients looking for a unique experience in shooting. It was expressed that locally there were no reputable Black women shooting groups that offered culturally based comprehensive firearms training. Our women clientele said they were seeking an all Black woman shooting experience that offered quality instruction in an energetic, culturally relevant and engaging environment. After serious dialogue and quite a bit of nudging (not nagging) S³C was birthed.

WHAT IS S³C?
S³C is a nationally recognized Black Women shooting club that provides quality firearm instruction from basic pistol to advanced tactics. Launched September 17th, 2023, as a shooting club our primary focus is developing women in the art of handgun shooting with full wrap-around services such as additional online courses, image based training, medical training, emergency preparedness and more for the total engagement of critical self-defense. In our training environments we nurture and instill confidence, trust, accountability, and social awareness. Currently, all instruction is provided by Nationally Accredited professionals (About Us). We are also excited to announce that a woman led apprenticeship program is underway to develop quality female instructors.

Why was S³C created?
S³C was created for Black women seeking a place to learn & hone their ability to safely and effectively use firearms for self-defense and recreation. At the direct request of our clientele we were asked to provide focus in the following areas

Quality firearms instruction centered around measured and quantified growth
A safe & nurturing learning environment
Provide a culturally rich space where they can express and be their authentic selves as Black women
Accessible and Affordable training year round
Group cohesion among women from all walks of life
Opportunities for Community service
2nd Amendment and use of force education
And of course, we anticipate adding additional areas of development as we strengthen and enhance the S³C experience. Our motto of Help, Heal, Hurt, Harm speaks to what our women defenders prefer and are prepared to demonstrate.

DID YOU KNOW?
According to data compiled by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. (March 8, 2022) Gun sales among Black men and women increased by 58 percent in the first six months of 2020.

According to Essence Magazine, between Jan 2019 and April 2021 of the 58% of women gun owners, 21% were Black women. Making Black women the fastest growing group of gun owners in America.

Firearm ownership comes with an enormous amount of responsibility and accountability that requires skills, education and emotional maturity. S³C is honored to empower these women as they continue to advance in their firearms education and development.

Membership requirements and responsibilities:

Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be willing to learn, maintain and demonstrate safe gun handling with a measurable level of proficiency with a handgun (carbines and shotguns are optional)
Must properly represent SSSC at all times by following gun laws and safe gun handling practices.
Participate in SSSC Annual Fundraiser.
Participate in at least one annually sponsored SSSC activity.

Annual membership Fees:
$300 (early registration: $200)
