The Aban Advantage Methodology |
Our approach to firearms training is an emphasis on reality, safety and then well rounded critical self-defense. Which is by far more than just firearms training. Our model is that awareness demands action. Action demands information. And information creates a population of firearm owners that are properly equipped and prepared to engage those unavoidable threats inside and outside the home. We call it the 4R Approach: Reality, Readiness, Resolve, Reassurance. We use time tested methods to teach firearm safety and tactical use. We start with the basics and build from there, encouraging each participant to push themselves to "Capable Ability." Firearms training and a constant state of readiness requires a multilevel approach for development. Just as in social services, we provide what are known as wraparound services. Here at Aban Advantage our training and schedule provide these wraparound services throughout the year with shooting, non-shooting and online classes. To that end our schedule is designed to develop and ensure that an informed, capable, emotional and intelligent mature citizen is the final product. To ensure that we are bringing cutting edge information, our instructors continue to learn from industry leaders themselves as enrolled students. "Get the Aban Advantage and Be Ready" "As an urban woman professional I long thought about self defense training to handle a gun while also feeling reluctant about owning one. The concealed carry course offered by Aban Advantage not only provided the fundamentals of choosing, owning, carrying and shooting a gun in Illinois but changed my position of the ownership matter 180 degrees. The 16 hour requirement was dense with practical information and clear explanations, with lots of demonstrations. Not a moment was wasted in this course. Furthermore the care, concern, and passion for teaching that the instructor demonstrated was second to none, with excellent knowledge of current law and industry history as well as street smarts, experience and great sense of humor. I defiantly made the right decision in taking this course and recommend Aban Advantage highly." -J. Choe |
FAQ
Q. How soon after I take your class can I apply for my CCL?
A. Immediately after completing the 16 hour course.
Q. Do I need a CCL to own a handgun in the City of Chicago, Oak Park, Morton Grove, Evanston, or Winnetka?
A. NO! Not anymore, and thank goodness! No municipalities can place any restrictions on handguns (size, capacity, color) since the STATE has passed concealed carry; however, you do need a valid FOID card to be in the possession of a firearm or ammunition (inside the home or transporting).
